Arylmax® Polymers
Polymics, Ltd. is the world’s premier developer and manufacturer of ultra-high performance engineering polymers, including Polymics’ proprietary Arylmax base resins designed to out-perform PEEK at high temperatures. Utilizing ISO certified production facilities, our core competency is the custom formulation of compounds uniquely designed to match the needs of our customers’ specific applications.
No matter what your application requires: wear resistance, chemical resistance, lubricity, conductivity, or all of these and more, we have the expertise to quickly and economically create the ideal polymer for the job.
In 2010, our Research & Development lab launched the Arylmax® K polymer in order to provide a material that would excel in temperatures too high for standard PEEK material. Recently, we have begun development of Arylmax® P (PAEK) with our partners CCP, which will perform at even higher temperatures than Arylmax® K. Both resins can be customized to meet the requirements of any application.
Arylmax® K (PEKK)
Properties
Polymics currently manufactures and offers Arylmax® K (PEKK) in resin form. This new polymer family is distinguished by its ability to outperform PEEK at higher temperatures.
This property makes it a great material selection for high-performance applications in high-temperature environments, such as down-hole components and valve seats.
Glass transition temperature (Tg)
329-347°F (165-175°C) (higher than PEEK)
Melting temperature (Tm)
581-698°F (305-370°C) (Higher than PEEK)
Performance
Excellent chemical resistance
Forms alloy with most commercial high temperature plastics
Electrophilic displacement reaction at low temperatures
Arylmax® P (PAEK)
Properties
This high-performance polymer is able to perform in temperatures even higher than those of Arylmax® K (PEKK), enabling customers reduce the amount of coolants and protective design measures in applications. This results in reduced costs and increased production.
For more information, please view our Arylmax® P datasheets.
Glass transition temperature (Tg)
383°F-473°F (195–245°C) (highest of any semi-crystalline polymer)
Melting temperature (Tm)
608-698°F (320-370°C) (higher than Arylmax® K)
Nucleophilic displacement reaction at high temperatures
